Car Wash and BBQ Raises Over $800

On behalf of Perth and District Little League, we’d like to send out a HUGE Thank You! to everyone who came out to our fundraising Car Wash and BBQ!

What a day! The weather was perfect, and we washed a lot of cars, served a lot of hamburgers and hot dogs, and raised over $800 in donations! Thank you to all our volunteers, players, parents and coaches, and everyone who came out to support us.

Thank you also to Hugh Colton and the team at Hinton Auto Group and Hinton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for not only supplying us with a fun location, but for providing ALL our food, drinks, and supplies!! We appreciate your support of Perth and District Little League.

New (May 2017) Rainout Policy

Due to Mother Nature being wildly unpredictable this year, Perth and District Little League will longer be making weather-related rainout calls in advance of games.

Rainout calls and cancellations will now be made using the following procedure:

  1. If there has been a significant amount of rain during the day, or we are aware of any other condition that makes the fields either unplayable or unsafe, that information will be communicated as usual, both on our website and on Facebook in as timely a fashion as possible.
  2. If the fields are fine but the weather looks a little iffy, and it’s too close to call, then we won’t call it. You will be expected to drive to the field, and the call on whether or not to cancel the game will be made at the field, at game time, by the umpires, or your coaches.

Please remember that we are all volunteers, and we really are trying to do our best to ensure both the enjoyment and safety of your children.

We also understand and appreciate that many of you drive considerable distances to play baseball, and even if you live around the corner, we know it’s frustrating when games get cancelled.

But, the reality is we play an outdoor game, so until we get our domed stadium, weather is going to happen, and from time to time, it will impact our season.

Please note that if games are cancelled, they are lost. Although an effort may be made to reschedule lost games, there is no guarantee that these lost games will be rescheduled.

2017 Major Tournament Announcement!

Perth and District Little League and the Ontario District 8 Little League are pleased to announce that the Town of Perth has been awarded the provincial tournament for Major-level teams (11 and 12 years old) for 2017. Co-Chairs Pat Habel and Karen Crosbie are well known in the community and Little League circles for putting on top notch tournaments and we look forward to another successful week of good baseball and community participation.

Perth & District Little League will automatically field a team in the competition, along with teams representing districts from all around Ontario. Games will begin on Saturday, July 22nd, at Conlon Farm Recreation Park.

Special thanks to the Town of Perth for funding recent improvements to the Legion baseball diamond at Conlon Farm. The infield now boasts new sod and clay, and is ready for more than 120 players from all over the province to play ball here this summer.
